Zoo Trip

This week, our schedule is all flipped around.  Monday, we enjoyed staying home and being lazy.  Tuesday ended up being our play day because that's when my mom could go to the zoo with us.  We're going to the park and boating on Thursday.  It's a good thing we didn't have anything fun planned for Monday because Miriam still wasn't feeling good and took a long nap.

Tuesday, we were off to Woodland Park Zoo.  We go at least once a year.  Elizabeth would like it if we made it there more often because it's one of her favorite places.  It was a misty dark day when we set out and it just seemed wrong to be making sure everyone had coats and umbrellas so we could be comfortable being outside for the day in August!  We first stopped in Edmonds and picked up my Mom, Millie and Gabe.  Then, with a quick side trip to Krispy Kreme for some empty calories, we headed to the zoo.

As soon as we got into the zoo, the children were drawn to the loud music coming from the demo trailers for the new X-BOX 360 add on.
They probably spent at least an hour there over the course of the day playing the two demo games and are now eagerly awaiting the release of the game, and counting their pennies.

watching the penguins was very entertaining

We stopped at a few of the education carts to learn about animals

Jacob had his ipod back for the day so we saw A LOT of this

we always have to stop at the play area

Miriam spent most of the day grumbling and asking when we were going to get to the giraffes.  When we finally got to them, she took a quick look and was done.  Then, she was ready to go home.

a stop at Willawong Station to feed the birds is always fun

our last stop was the antique carousel

2 tokens gives you a short ride

We'd brought the wagon which allowed little (and big) feet to get some rest
